Atlanta is the economic and cultural center of the south of the United States. A city full of traditional charm spiced up with a modern flair. The City

Modern Atlanta is a great cosmopolitan city and well worth a visit. From the outside, Atlanta looks like a typical American big city with skyscrapers and plenty of hotels and restaurants. However, there is much more to explore. It is a place full of American history that predates the American Civil War. It is also the birthplace of several famous people, such as civil rights’ fighter Martin Luther King Jr. and Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone With the Wind". It is home to the world’s most famous soda brand, Coca-Cola, and its headquarters and museum are still based in Atlanta. Sports enthusiasts will find a complete selection of options including the Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Dome hosting the NFL Atlanta Falcons, the Philips Arena showcasing NBA Atlanta Hawks and the WNBA Atlanta Dream.

Do & See

As the economic and cultural center of the south of the United States, Atlanta surely offers an interesting mix of attractions and activities. From the CNN and Coca-Cola headquarters to places rooted in history as the church where Martin Luther King Jr used to preach. The range of cultural offerings and sports events are endless, in Atlanta you'll find something for every age and taste.

Chitlins, grits and collard greens are typical of Atlanta, but they are by no means the only thing you may expect here. Atlanta offers an impressive number of restaurants, ranging from fine dining to rustic roadside diners. There's something for every budget and every palate.

Cafés are usually a world in themselves and Atlanta’s are no exception, offering plenty of variety in atmosphere, food, drinks, and entertainment.

Bars & Nightlife

Atlanta has an exhilarating night life and a variety of bars and nightclubs. From Latin music to burlesque shows and everything in between, there is something for everyone. Midtown is the area to head to where sports bars are especially popular. Most of the clubs are open until 2h/3h.

As Atlanta is quite cosmopolitan, it is easy to find what you are looking for, be it trendy or tacky, funky or fashionable or anything you can think of in-between. The city and its suburbs are teeming with malls, neighborhood shops, galleries and antiques. Malls are by far the most convenient place to shop since most of them have parking, entertainment options and restaurants. For bargains, you have to drive a little out of the way to the North Georgia Premium Outlets in Dawnsville or Discover Mills in Lawrenceville.
